Indian Railways has announced cancelling the Vande Bharat Express service between Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra for 50 days. The cancellation affects train number 22439/22440, which runs between New Delhi and Katra, a popular pilgrimage destination in Jammu and Kashmir.

The train, operated by the Northern Railway zone, is being temporarily taken off for maintenance work. Passengers who were planning to travel on this Vande Bharat Express during this period are advised to look for alternative travel options.

Currently, two Vande Bharat Express trains operate between Delhi and Katra. The first one is the 22439/22440 New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express, and the second is the 22477/22478 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express, which will continue to run as scheduled.

The cancelled train, 22439/22440, covers a distance of 655 km and usually takes around 8 hours and 5 minutes to reach Katra from Delhi. The cancellation of this service is expected to impact several passengers, especially those travelling to Katra for religious purposes.

Rail passengers are urged to check the latest updates and changes to their travel schedules before making any journey. Indian Railways has assured us that efforts will be made to restore services as soon as the maintenance work is completed. (KNS)
