New Delhi, Jan 08: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Rajiv Jasrotia called on Union Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office, Dr Jitendra Singh to discuss key development issues in the Jasrota constituency. He called for significant upgrades and new infrastructure projects.
During the meeting, Jasrotia called for the urgent need to upgrade the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Dinga Amb to a trauma hospital. He said this facility serves a large population and is crucial for treating accident victims on the busy Dhar road, where heavy truck traffic raises safety concerns. “Without sufficient medical facilities, lives are lost before patients can reach the GMC in Kathua or Jammu,” he said, calling for advanced life-saving equipment and adequate medical staff.
The BJP leader highlighted the necessity of constructing an alternate railway station in the heart of Kathua city, which would improve accessibility for daily commuters and long-distance passengers. A pre-feasibility survey from the technical wing of the Railways has already confirmed the project’s viability, he said.
The MLA also discussed various flood-related projects under the FMBAP program, involving approximately Rs 300 crores for the banks of River Ujjh Sahar Khad and Tarnach Nallah. He advocated for road widening projects connecting Barwal to Kumbri and Barnoti to Ghatti among others, alongside developing playgrounds in local Panchayats.
Jasrotia said that despite past governmental neglect, significant advancements have been made since 2014 to integrate underdeveloped areas into the mainstream. He urged the PMO to prioritise infrastructure enhancements to bolster economic growth, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and preserve cultural heritage throughout District Kathua.
