Ganderbal, Dec 04: Gonchi Mohalla in Kangan witnessed a surge of joy as District Development Councillor Tasmeena Adil Kapra inaugurated a new 200kV transformer funded from her DDC allocation.
Despite battling poor health, she made efforts and ensured the transformer for us, said locals.
Locals, long grappling with a dire power situation, welcomed the “transformative” initiative. They expressed gratitude to the DDC and highlighted the persistent issues they faced due to power shortages in the area.
Tasmeena acknowledged the people’s plight, saying it had been after two decades that the region had such relief. “After I came to know about the issue, I promptly utilised my DDC fund to install the new 200kV transformer to ensure power supply for the people,” she said.
A local lady said, “Tasmeena Ji demonstrated her commitment to the welfare of the community. Even though she limited her public appearances due to ill health, the DDC Sahiba remained dedicated to serving the people,” locals said.
