Srinagar, Dec 18: An entrepreneurship awareness programme (EAP) on Feeding, Breeding and Health management of Sheep and Goat was organized by SKUAST-K in collaboration with Sheep Husbandry Department here in Dagpora, Srinagar on Wednesday.
A statement issued here said that the programme was sponsored by Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Entrepreneurship, New Delhi in which more than 50 Sheep Breeders participated and interacted with the Veterinary scientists from SKUAST-K.
“Veterinary Faculty and Officers of the Sheep Husbandry Department, experts from the Veterinary Medicine, Livestock Production Management, Animal Nutrition and Doctors from the line Department delivered lectures and interacted with the participants,” the statement said.
It said that the experts emphasized on the balanced feeding, Breeding, scientific Management, Scheduled vaccination and deworming in the Animals for maximizing profitability from the Sheep farming. Training Coordinator Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Reshi said that such trainings are aimed for skill upgradation of the sheep breeders and it is satisfying for them to see Sheep Breeders participating in good numbers in such programmes and getting knowledge on scientific animal rearing.
