Srinagar, Dec 04: The Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme has successfully disbursed claims worth Rs 100 crore to empaneled hospitals across Jammu and Kashmir since October, according to the State Health Agency (SHA).
As of now, a total of 60,929 claims have been processed, amounting to Rs 100 crore. Sanjiv Gadkar, CEO of the State Health Agency, J&K, hailed the milestone, stating that surpassing Rs 100 crore in just two months reflects the dedication and efficiency of the team.
“We are focused on ensuring timely claim payments to all empaneled hospitals. The growing number of claims and portability cases indicates the public’s trust in this initiative and its positive impact on their lives,” Gadkar said.
He emphasized that these figures demonstrate the trust people place in the scheme and the government’s commitment to safeguarding public health. “We remain dedicated to expanding the scheme’s reach and ensuring quality healthcare for all,” he added.
The SEHAT scheme, which offers free access to essential medical services, encountered a temporary disruption on September 2 when private hospitals and dialysis centers in J&K halted services for 10 days due to non-compliance by the private insurance provider, IFFCO-TOKIO, with High Court directions.
Despite these challenges, Gadkar assured that the SEHAT scheme continues to be a vital resource for the people of J&K, alleviating the financial burden of healthcare and ensuring free access to medical care.
