SKUAST-K, Division of LPM conducts Training Cum Poultry Distribution Program

Srinagar, Nov 26: Division of LPM, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry today carried out a training cum poultry distribution programme under tribal sub-plan component of AICRP on poultry for tribal poultry farmers of District Ganderbal.
The training cum input distribution programme held at Division of LPM, FVSc & AH, SKUAST-K Shuhama had Prof. Azmat Alam Khan, OSD to Vice Chancellor as Chief Guest. In his address he urged the tribal poultry farmers to adopt backyard poultry farming as a subsidiary activity.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Prof. Islam-ud-din Shiekh, Head, Division of LPM and Dr. Zulfiqar-ul-haq, Research Associate. Comprehensive training on different aspects of backyard poultry farming was imparted. Backyard Poultry units comprising 4 week old birds and poultry feed were provided to 70 Poultry farmers free of cost.
Prof. Azmat Alam Khan thanked ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research Hyderabad for providing the funding support under TSP to AICRP-Poultry SKUAST-K Centre to support tribal poultry farmers of Kashmir region.
