Srinagar, Nov 09: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has announced a uniform date sheet for summative assessments for students in grades 1 to 9 across both government and private schools in the Kashmir Division. The examinations will begin on November 25, 2024, and conclude on December 6, 2024.
The exams will take place between 11 am and 2 pm, with results expected to be declared by or before December 15, 2024.
The Director of School Education, Kashmir emphasised that all educational institutions in the region must adhere to the uniform schedule. “The question papers will be prepared by the respective schools, following the student evaluation framework, which aligns with the competencies, curricular objectives, and learning outcomes outlined in the holistic progress card,” he said.
Heads of Institutions (HOIs) have been tasked with ensuring that all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the examinations are in place. “HOIs must also ensure that the answer scripts are assessed promptly to facilitate the timely declaration of results,” the DSEK added.
Director of School Education Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain Mir, reassured students that the exams would be student-friendly and stress-free, with a focus on competencies. He noted that 90 percent of the syllabus up to the 9th grade has been completed, and teachers are fully aware of the content to be covered in the exams.
Mir also highlighted that the admission process for the upcoming academic session would begin on December 20, 2024, ensuring the new academic year starts as scheduled.
