Srinagar, Oct 26: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference provincial president and Advisor to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Nasir Aslam Wani on Saturday said the J&K government is actively addressing grievances and working towards restitution.
Interacting with scores of public and individual delegations at the party headquarters here, Nasir expressed commitment to addressing the concerns of the visiting delegations from different areas of the Kashmir division.
The visiting delegations voiced their grievances, which Nasir attentively listened to and promptly assured them that he would direct officials to take necessary action, the party said in a statement issued here.
Nasir said the government is fully aware of the challenges faced by individuals from various walks of life and is dedicated to working tirelessly to address them. “Omar Abdullah-led government is in tune with the aspirations of the public and is committed to actively representing their interests,” he said.
However, Wani pointed out the potential hindrance of having multiple power centres, which he said could impede the efficiency of the elected government. He stressed the importance of granting the elected government full authority over administrative areas to facilitate quick and effective decision-making.
Restoring full statehood is crucial for the overall progress and development of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
Emphasising the National Conference’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling all promises made to the people, Nasir asserted that the residents of Jammu and Kashmir must exercise patience, as it has only been a short time since the formation of the government. “The initial progress has been promising. Every pledge outlined in the party’s manifesto before assuming power in Jammu and Kashmir will be upheld. The implementation process is already underway,” he said.
