Srinagar, Oct 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kashmir unit on Saturday commemorated Accession Day with a ceremony at the party headquarters here.
The event brought together party workers, senior leaders and citizens to honour this significant day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, the party said in a statement issued here.
BJP General Secretary (Org) Jammu and Kashmir, Ashok Koul in his address highlighted the importance of Accession Day as a reminder of the Union Territory’s commitment to unity and integrity within India. He hailed Maharaja Hari Singh’s decision to accede to India in 1947 and underscored BJP’s dedication to preserving the cultural heritage and historical legacy of Jammu and Kashmir.
Party members expressed a shared commitment to advancing the vision of a united and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir, the statement said, adding that the ceremony included patriotic addresses and reflections on the role of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in strengthening India’s democratic fabric.
