Kishtwar, Oct 23: Member Legislature Assembly (MLA) Inderwal, Pyare Lal Sharma on Wednesday held a meeting with district and Sectoral Officers in Kishtwar to discuss pressing public issues with the district administration. Seeking coordinated governance and timely execution of development projects, the MLA covered a wide range of pressing issues in his home constituency.
P L Sharma said all legislative representatives of the three Assembly Constituencies of district Kishtwar will work closely to ensure smooth governance and effective control over ongoing projects. “There will be no shortage of funds for government offices. We believe in delivering results, and our focus is on ensuring that all projects are completed in a stipulated time,” he said.
One of the primary issues discussed was the Gram Sabha meetings and the MLA asked the Rural Development Department (RDD) to convene the same at the earliest, availing the favourable weather condition. He called for immediate action to ensure proper implementation of the MGNREGA scheme, focusing on providing 90 days of labour to workers and maintaining high standards for the projects.
P L Sharma also called for timely approval of project plans to avoid unnecessary delays. He directed the officers to expedite the disbursement of pending PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) installments and the necessary Geo-Tagging to ensure benefits reach eligible beneficiaries.
The MLA asked for augmenting water supply in the Inderwal constituency. He instructed the Jal Shakti Department to form a special team to inspect the status of water reservoirs and resolve issues, if any. Sharma urged the department to ensure that every household receives adequate water supply before the onset of winter.
Sharma sought augmentation of health and education Infrastructure. He enquired about the ongoing schemes of the government departments viz Horticulture, Agriculture, Forest, Health, Labour and various other departments. The functionaries of the fisheries department informed about the new fisheries farm being established in Inderwal Constituency.
On the infrastructure front, P L Sharma highlighted the need for Forest Clearance and NOCs for road projects under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). He requested the Forest Department to expedite the survey and approval process to facilitate timely road construction.
