Srinagar, Oct 23: Er Rashid, Member of Parliament from north Kashmir, held an important meeting on Wednesday with Baldev Prakash, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Jammu & Kashmir Bank, to discuss key financial and infrastructural issues affecting the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency.
During the discussion, Er Rashid emphasised the urgent need for opening new JK Bank branches and ATMs across the Baramulla Parliamentary constituency, particularly in Karnah and Gurez. He pointed out that improved banking accessibility would significantly boost financial inclusion and local economic growth.
The MP also raised concerns on behalf of the trading community, requesting the implementation of the Special One-Time Settlement (SOTS) Scheme for traders across the Union Territory. In addition, he highlighted issues faced by the Share Khass traders, a traders group from old city Srinagar, that had recently approached him, seeking relief and support from the bank. The SOTS scheme is aimed at helping traders settle their overdue accounts, providing them with financial stability and relief.
Prakash assured Er Rashid of the bank’s full cooperation, confirming that JK Bank would prioritize both the expansion of branches and ATMs and explore effective measures to implement the SOTS scheme for the benefit of the trading community. Chief Spokesperson of AIP, Inam Un Nabi, accompanied Er Rashid during the meeting.
