Adopt measures to strengthen security grid: DIG DKR Range to officials

Srinagar, Oct 18: Deputy Inspector General of Police Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, Shridhar Patil-IPS convened a crime review meeting of District Ramban at Conference Hall PCR Ramban.

The meeting was attended by SSP Ramban Kulbir Singh-JKPS, Addl. SP Ramban Gorav Mahajan-JKPS, Staff Officer to DIGP DKR Range, Dy. SP Hqrs Ramban, Dy. SP DAR Ramban, Dy. SP PC Chanderkote-Batote, Dy. SP PC Sangaldan, SDPO Gool, SDPO Banihal and SHOs of all Police Stations of District Ramban.

SSP Ramban briefed DIGP DKR Range about the law and order, crime and security scenario along with other initiatives carried out by the Ramban Police in the District.

He also highlighted measures adopted to strengthen security grid and improve policing.

During the meeting, DIG DKR Range reviewed the status of Police Station wise pending under investigation cases related to UAPA, NDPS Act, Excise, Bovine smuggling and Crime against women & children.

While elaborating it was mentioned that maintenance of law and order, prevention of crime, speedy investigation and disposal of cases, quality investigation, adequate attention to public grievance on day-to-day basis and strengthening of Police Public relations are of utmost importance.

Addressing the officers, DIG DKR Range said that the Investigation officers must take all the measures to improve investigation and disposal of cases on merits.

He impressed upon the officers that the quality of investigation and disposal of these cases needs improvement and exerted upon them to adopt the latest techniques and standard operating practices which would bring better results in investigation process. Beside this stress was also laid on Beat patrolling and maintenance of Beat Book record.

SHOs were directed to ensure regular surveillance over OGWs/bad characters in their areas. He stressed upon the supervisory officers to contribute more by conducting supervisory meeting and by ensuring closure supervision of important cases to get better results for the remaining period of the year. He advised them to improve the quality of investigation and prosecution to increase the convictions.

After the culmination of Crime meeting, DIG DKR Range also held Darbar of Jawans at DPL Ramban. Their grievances were heard and were assured of their early redressal.

Later DIG DKR Range briefed all the Jawans and officers present to perform their duty with highest level of integrity and uprightness to deliver highest grade public service.
