Srinagar, Apr 02: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Anvy Lavasa on Sunday directed all those who have arms without having valid licenses to submit those within 10 days or face action.
The DC in a notice has directed for deposition of arms, the licenses of which were not uploaded on the NDAL-ALIS portal or did not have a UIN or were issued by SDMs/Tehsildars or were not renewed due to whatever reason.
It has come to the notice of this office that there still are a number of people possessing weapons despite the above-mentioned discrepancies in their arms licenses, the order issued by DC said, adding, “Now therefore, through the medium of this notice, last opportunity is given to anybody possessing any weapon wherein he/she does not have a valid arms license to deposit his/her weapon in the police station concerned within a period of ten (10) days, failing which action, as warranted under law, shall be initiated against that defaulter.”
