Srinagar, Sept 14: Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), Dr Jehangir Bakshi on Saturday visited CHC Sumbal and CHC Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district to take stock of health care services being provided to patients.
A spokesperson of the health department said the director took an in-depth review of progress regarding establishment of a dialysis unit for which space has been already earmarked. A detailed discussion was held regarding the initiation of dialysis services.
The director instructed BMO to immediately coordinate with Director SKIMS, who has already assured the provision of two additional dialysis machines as required. The BMO was also directed to ensure the activation of a dialysis machine available at the facility.
The spokesman said the DHSK directed to resolve the infra and some logistical issues pertaining to the dialysis unit so that the services are available to the general public.
“Apart from focussing on making the Dialysis Unit functional, the inspection aimed to assess the healthcare facilities quality, patient care and hygiene standards,” he said.
During the inspection, the director visited various sections of both the hospitals to have on spot appraisal of the health care delivery system.
He also evaluated the hospitals’ infrastructure, medical equipment and staffing levels. He also interacted with patients, attendants, and hospital staff to gauge their satisfaction levels and identify areas for improvement.
Dr. Bakshi emphasized the importance of providing quality healthcare services to the public and stated “Our primary focus is to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.”
The spokesman said the inspection was aimed to strengthen healthcare services in the region adding they aim to continue monitoring healthcare facilities. The DHSK was accompanied by divisional and district level officers during his visit.
