Srinagar, Dec 21: In a significant breakthrough towards dismantling the terror ecosystem from UT, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a former terrorist, Parvaiz Ahmed in Kishtwar after remaining absconding for the past 18 years.
The Ex terrorist alias Haris, had been evading arrest for the past 18 years, police officials said.
Inspector General of Police Anand Jain, Jammu Zone said J&K Police in Kishtwar district apprehended an ex-terrorist who had eluded arrest for the past 18 years. He was wanted in Case FIR No. 100/2005, U/Sec. 302/307/RPC 7/27 IA Act, registered at PS Kishtwar.
A police official said following credible information from sources, a dedicated police team from PS Kishtwar, led by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday SHO, PS Kishtwar, executed prompt and targeted raids on suspected locations.
“This operation culminated in the successful arrest of the long-standing absconder, identified as Parvaiz Ahmed alias Haris, son of Ab Rashid Bagwan, residing in Hullar Kishtwar,” he said.
SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal reiterated his warnings to all absconders, urging them to surrender at the nearest police station. Otherwise, stern action under Section 82/83 Cr. PC shall be taken against them, he added.
