Anantnag, Aug 07: 13th District Anantnag Wushu Championship 2024, organized by the District Anantnag Wushu Association, concluded on Wednesday at the Indoor Stadium Bijbihara. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 345 female athletes and 195 male athletes, showcasing the growing interest and talent in Wushu within the district.
The championship was graced by the presence of the District Youth Services and Sports Officer Mr. Raja Yaqoob as the chief guest, along with the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bijbihara Mr. Asif Mujtaba and the Manager of the Indoor Stadium as guests of honor. Their support and encouragement were greatly appreciated by the participants and organizers alike.
Aijaz Hassan, the Secretary of the District Wushu Association, congratulated his entire team, led by Aaqib Majeed, Joint Secretary of the District Anantnag Wushu Association and Head Coach of FSLD Fighter’s Club, for their dedication and hard work in making the event a resounding success.
The chief guest expressed admiration for the efforts of the association and extended full support from the District Youth Services and Sports Office for future endeavors.
Aaqib Majeed, speaking on behalf of his team, stated, “Since 2014, we have been on a mission to eradicate drugs from our society. We do not seek government awards or recognition; we do what we love for our community and ourselves.”
The District Wushu Association Anantnag is committed to continuing its efforts to promote Wushu in the district and to help young athletes reach higher levels of achievement.
