Chandigarh, July 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab of cheating the farmers by not taking care of them and their problems.
“As soon as the Bhagwant Mann government came to power it made a series of promises, however, today the entire farming community in the state is so disappointed and disillusioned,” Chugh said in a statement.
Chugh said though the Modi government has been providing all kinds of assistance to farmers but the AAP government had failed dismally to improve their plight.
He said the Bhagwant Mann government promised to waive farmers loans but nothing has happened. While Haryana is giving MSP to farmers on 14 crops, Punjab is far too away from it, he said.
“The Bhagwant Mann government is only a poster government which is more into publicity and reflecting deceptive figures to mislead the people,” the BJP leader said.
He said CM is spending more money on publicity than on performance. “The AAP government is only concerned about publicity while on the ground all sections society are disappointed with its performance,” he said.
