Plantation drive held at PM SHRI GHSS Bhalra Zone Bhaderwah

Doda July 06: National Cadets Corps wing of PM SHRI School Government Higher Secondary School Bhalra Bhaderwah, under 2 J&K (I) Coy NCC Bhaderwah, organised a tree plantation drive as part of ‘Van Mahotsav-2024’ and “One Cadet- One Tree campaign 2024”.
The aim of the drive was to create awareness regarding the need to preserve and conserve the environment and to tackle the challenges of climate change by setting an example to others.
Staff members, NCC cadets (JD/SD/SW), Ex- cadets and students of the Institution took part in the drive.
A total of 40 saplings of Conifers i.e. Cedrus deodara and Pine and other trees having medicinal importance were planted with an aim to spread awareness amongst people about the importance of a green world for mankind.
The said programme was coordinated by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Koul, Associate NCC Officer/Zonal Cultural & Counselling Incharge, Bhaderwah and assisted by Om Parkash (Sr. Lect.) and Neeraj Kotwal (Teacher) under the guidance of Pradeep Singh Billawria (Principal of the Institution).
The NCC cadets of the school promised to protect and restore the green cover of the planet earth. It was a successful day and the students went back home feeling happy that they have performed their share of duty to keep the earth ‘Green’.
The programme was organised under the supervision of District Development Commissioner, Harvinder Singh and Chief Education Officer, P.L. Thapa.
The program concluded with reciting of the NCC slogans and NCC song.
