7 key posts lying vacant in Bandipora hospital

Bandipora, Feb 07: Shortage of staff in District hospital Bandipora has been severely impacting patient care with seven key posts lying vacant in the hospital.
An insider told Rising Kashmir that many posts especially key posts have been lying vacant for the past several years which has been affecting the health care badly.
He said that to cope with this, the hospital has employed someone through outsourcing in addition to the majority of the work being executed by the interns. This arrangement is an inadequate solution which is impairing the hospital’s efficiency, he said.
As per the details available with Rising Kashmir, out of two posts in X-ray section, one is lying vacant while as the employee posted on another post has been detached to somewhere else.
Similarly in Surgical theatre, two posts each theatre and anesthesia technician on the regular side are also lying vacant while as three posts are also vacant in the Laboratory.
A top health official of DH Bandipora administration admitted to Rising Kashmir that several key posts are lying vacant in the hospital. “We try to manage somehow. We have informed the higher authorities several times. The appointment of these officials comes under the domain of higher authorities”, he said.
The hospital is trying to cope with vacant posts by hiring people on contract or through outsourcing, he added.
