Jammu, Nov 10: A magnificent inauguration ceremony for APSICON 2022 was organized at Guru Nanak Dev University on Thursday in which plastic surgeons from across the country and the world have arrived at Amritsar to attend the 56th Annual Conference of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India.
Dr. Ravi K. Mahajan, President of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India, informed that the five-day conference would feature a series of masterclasses, video lectures and workshops on the latest developments in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar (Minister of Local Bodies Government of Punjab) graced the event as the Chief Guest while Giyani Girdhar (Director General, Association of Health Care Providers) and Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu (Vice-Chancellor, GNDU, Amritsar) were present at the venue as Guests of Honour.
Dr. J.S. Sandhu while welcoming the delegates said, “I am glad to see so many scholarly Plastic Surgeons who have come together to promote plastic surgery as a science and art through this event.”
It is pertinent to note that this is only the second time that APSICON is being held in Punjab, with the first one being held at Patiala 40 years ago. The conference has 700 Plastic Surgeons from different parts of the country. About 20 Plastic Surgeons hailing from the UK, USA, Dubai, Australia, and Europe, are also attending the conference.
Dr. Girdhar Gyani said, “APSICON conference is especially focused on quality healthcare and making all the delegates aware of the latest technologies in plastic surgery.”
Dr. Ravi Mahajan said, “Over 400 research papers on various aspects of Plastic Surgery will also be presented. Intellectual discussions will enable Plastic Surgeons to develop skills and help people achieve the best possible results while maintaining their safety.”
It is noteworthy that Amandeep Hospital’s Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is organising this year’s APSICON. Dr. Avtar Singh, Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director of Amandeep Hospital said that it is a matter of great pride for Amandeep Hospital as well as the city of Amritsar that such an event of National level is being held at Amritsar with the efforts of Dr. Ravi Mahajan & his team of Plastic Surgeons at Amandeep Hospital.
