Kulgam district administration has scheduled a two days mega winter carnival for Aharbal and Chiranbal tourist places from February 16.
Famous for the waterfall, Aharbal is called the Niagara Falls of Kashmir while Chiranbal is a beautiful place uphill some 15 kilometers from Aharbal through a trail route.
A meeting regarding its preparedness has already been held by the Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam Dr Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat.
“Arrangements for different activities including cultural programmes, transportation, trekking, snow games, installation of stalls and other activities have been reviewed,”an official said adding, the festival will be held on February 16 and 17.
He said, all the line departments were apprised for making the said programs a success.
“We are taking these initiatives to boost the unexplored places in the district. And ensure more tourist footfall to these places,” the official added.
