Srinagar, Dec 07: In preparation for the highly anticipated 1st Mti Sports Beach Festival 2023-24 in Diu, Daman and Diu (DNHD&D), the Pencak Silat Association of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) has announced open selection trials for both boys and girls. The trials are scheduled to take place on December 10, 2023, at the Gindun Sports Centre in Rajbagh, Srinagar.
The selection trials are open to young athletes between the ages of 16 and 20 who aspire to represent the J&K Union Territory teams at the forthcoming beach games festival. Participants are required to present a valid ID proof, age proof, and a recommendation from their respective district heads. Additionally, a parent declaration, a medical and health insurance certificate, and two passport-size photographs are mandatory for eligibility.
While the trials provide a platform for athletes to showcase their skills, it’s important to note that no boarding, lodging, or transportation will be provided during the selection process. Affiliated District Pencak Silat Associations are urged to ensure that their players adhere to the specified guidelines.
Selected athletes from the trials will face the screening team of the J&K Sports Council on December 11, 2023, to finalize the roster for the 1st Mti Sports Beach Festival, scheduled to be held from January 5 to 10, 2024.
Nassir Ahmad Digoo, President of the Pencak Silat Association of J&K, can be contacted for further details at 9797194893 or 9622422766, or through email at [email protected].
