Srinagar, July 08: Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district continue to crack the whip on stunt bikers, triple riders and other violators of traffic rules, and booked 17 persons in this regard.
“A police party of Police Station Sheeri led by SHO PS Sheeri seized 17 two-wheelers and booked 17 persons who were involved in stunt biking and triple riding in Sheeri Baramulla,” a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here. “Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Sheeri and an investigation has been taken up.”
Police said they have been closely monitoring the increasing instances of stunt biking in various areas. These dangerous activities not only pose a significant threat to the lives of the bikers themselves but also endanger the lives of innocent bystanders and motorists on the roads, the spokesperson said, adding that police consider this behaviour a serious violation of traffic laws and a major public safety concern.
Police have urged the public to report any instances of reckless stunt biking or other traffic violations to the authorities. “The cooperation of the community is essential in maintaining road safety and ensuring a secure environment for all residents,” the spokesperson said.
