Ganderbal, Apr 01: The 118 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) marked its 34th Raising Day with immense joy and pride, reflecting on its years of dedicated service and commitment to the nation. The battalion, established on April 15, 1991, at GC CRPF, Mokamaghat, celebrated the occasion with a series of events that showcased its valor and unwavering dedication.
The day commenced with a poignant tribute to the martyrs at the Martyrs Memorial, honoring their unparalleled courage and sacrifices made in the line of duty. Commandant S. S. Yadav led the ceremony, underscoring the battalion’s achievements and urging all personnel to uphold CRPF’s esteemed traditions with resolute dedication and valor.
Highlighting the battalion’s exemplary service, Commandant Yadav emphasized the organization of medical camps under the civic action program for the local community, demonstrating the CRPF’s commitment to social welfare.
The celebration continued with a spirited SainikSammelan, a Raising Day Fair featuring games and culinary delights from across the nation, and an Inter-Coy Sports Competition promoting physical fitness and teamwork. Additionally, captivating cultural events showcased the unit’s artistic talents and celebrated its cultural diversity.
