‘NEP 2020 aimed at achieving the status of Visvaguru’

Jammu, Apr 09: Dr. Balbir Singh, Associate Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University delivered an online expert lecture on ‘National Education Policy 2020: Challenges and Opportunities for Teachers of Higher Education Institutions’.
He delivered the lecture in the Faculty Development Program on ‘Innovative and Emerging Thrust Areas of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering’ Saturday which was organized by Sandip Foundation’s Shri Ram Polytechnic, Sijoul, Madhubani, Bihar.
Dr. Singh highlighted the details of the revolutionary transformation in the Indian education system through the New Education Policy. “The multidisciplinary and holistic education, blended learning, choice-based credit systems, flexible learning with multiple entry and exit, skilling and employability, research and internship and light but tight regulatory framework are the hallmarks of NEP2020,” he said.
“The policy envisaged providing teaching-learning environment in the Indian culture and values and Bhartiya Gyan Parampara so as to achieve the status of Visvaguru as used to be in an ancient time,” Dr. Singh said. The lecture was attended by renowned academicians, industrialists and scholars.
