Anantnag, May 14: Former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Sunday said that a sudden fault in 11000 KV Line has caused immense damage to inhabitants of Agno Zambalgam in Shahbad Bala area of Dooru and demanded compensation in favour of affected families.
In a statement issued here, Mir said the sudden fault in the 11000 KV line covering Agno Zambalgam (Shahabad Bala) has caused damages to electronic apparatus, particularly to water lifting motors, washing machines, transformers, lighting bulbs, TV sets and other machinery including a commercial run through electricity and demanded compensation to affected people.
Mir, according to the statement, was approached by a local delegation of the affected area, who sought his indulge in their compensation issue. He expressed serious concern over the incident and said this could have cost human lives, which is impossible to replace, so the incident must be taken very seriously by PDD. “Though the department has made an assessment of the losses as per the procedure, the compensation should be provided at the earliest as per the level of losses caused in the affected area,” Mir said and urged the PDD to take more precautions to avoid the fault in electric lines, in future.
The former JKPCC president urged the helmsmen of PDD to ensure that the damages caused are compensated hassle-free, as the inhabitants of the area are poor and can’t afford the losses.
