Government Dental College, Srinagar releases maiden magazine “AKS 2023”

In a day brimming with excitement and cultural vibrancy, the Socio Cultural/Magazine Committee of Government Dental College, Srinagar, orchestrated a grand program under the patronship of Prof. Dr. Riyaz Farooq (Principal/Dean), featuring Dr. Shazana Nazir Qazi (Associate Professor) as the Convener, and Dr. Ajaz Masoodi, Dr. Nameeta Kaur, and Dr. Shafia Sarfi as members.

The highlight of the day was the elaborate event unveiling the inaugural issue of the Government Dental College’s magazine, “AKS 2023.” This labor of passion and dedication from the faculty and students encapsulates the institution’s 37-year legacy, showcasing the intellectual and creative prowess of GDC Srinagar.

The Chief Guest at the magazine release was the Honourable Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, Professor Nilofer Khan. Notable guests included Prof. Dr. Masood Tanvir, Principal GMC Srinagar, Prof. Dr. Irfan Robbani, Principal SKIMS MC, Prof. Dr. Iffat Hassan Shah, Principal GMC Handwara, and Prof. Dr. Ruby Reshi, Principal GMC Baramulla, and Medical Superintendent, Dr. Mirzada Bilal.

The event drew the participation of esteemed Heads of Departments, faculty, 100 Postgraduate, 150 Undergraduate students, House Surgeons, Interns, and Paradental Staff. In her address, the Vice Chancellor lauded GDC Srinagar’s contributions to the tremendous development of dental care in the valley.

The latter half of the day unfolded as an Orientation Day and welcome for 60 Undergraduates and 30 Postgraduates, with more than 400 attendees. The magazine release and the vibrant Orientation Day marked a milestone, leaving a lasting impression on the memories of all present and setting a high standard for future celebrations in the academic year.
