Bandipora, Nov 11: Authorities on Friday allowed one-way traffic movement on the 85-km-long Bandipora-Gurez after it remained closed due to the recent snowfall.
An official told Rising Kashmir that soon after clearing the snow by utilising men and machinery, the road was reopened today for the one-way vehicular movement of passengers and essential commodities.
He said that the cutoff timing from Kanzalwan and Tragbal shall be 02:00 pm following which no vehicle will be allowed to travel. However, the restrictions on movement shall not apply to vehicles and machinery of Border Roads Organization and mechanical engineering.
He further said that no vehicle will be allowed to travel without antiskid chains. “Passengers and drivers planning to travel on the said road shall confirm the status of the road and traffic plan well before starting their journey,” the official said.
