‘Application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Agriculture and Business Management program starts at SKUAST-K

Srinagar, Dec 19: One-week training programme, on “Application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Agriculture and Business Management”Sponsored by the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium enterprises Govt of India was inaugurated by Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai Vice chancellor SKUAST Kashmir. 
 
The programme aims to sensitize and train entrepreneurs and unemployed youth to develop technical skills in the field of Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning and its applications in Agriculture. The training is part of the initiatives taken by Vice Chancellor Prof Nazir Ah. Ganai towards digital agriculture and strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in agriculture and allied sectors. 
 
The speakers from industry and academia within and outside the Union territory of J&K have been invited to deliberate and sensitize entrepreneurs about the prospectus of applying Artificial intelligence and Machine learning techniques in solving agricultural problems and challenges. The programme comprises technical sessions and hands-on training. The participants include potential entrepreneurs, students and other graduates desirous to develop start-ups and enterprises in the AI domain. 
 
The Chief Guest Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai in his remark talked about the importance of Artificial intelligence and Machine learning in different domains. He emphasised the importance of these training programmes in acquiring skills and creating an impact on learning outcomes to be able to develop entrepreneurial units and develop intelligent solutions in the agriculture domain through the use of AI and ML.
Prof Haroon Naik Director of Project Planning and monitoring gave an overview of activities that are being conducted by SKUAST-K as a part of MSME-sponsored training programmes and how the entrepreneurs are being benefited through these programmes. He expressed satisfaction and desire to have a meaningful impact on the currently devised training programme.
 
The Associate Dean Prof Rohitasw Kumar gave a detailed overview of the training programme. Prof Jagvir Dixit Head of farm Machinery and Power Engineering presented a vote of thanks and  Dr Showkat Rasool Coordinator of the training programme conducted the proceedings of the function.
