Srinagar, June 04: In continuation of its weeklong celebration of World Environment Week 2025, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Ganderbal on Day-7 carried out impactful clean-up drives aimed at fostering environmental responsibility among youth and local communities. The drives were organized across Zones Ganderbal and Tullamulla, where students and staff members from various institutions enthusiastically participated in cleaning public spaces and sports stadiums. Equipped with gloves, tools and a shared sense of purpose, the participants worked collectively to remove litter and spread the message of a cleaner, greener future.
A total of 142 participants Male 92 and Female 50 actively took part in these activities, turning the drive into both a practical exercise and a powerful awareness campaign. The initiative not only aimed at physical cleanliness but also sought to plant the seeds of environmental consciousness among the young generation. Officials from the department commended the spirited participation of the students and staff, emphasising the importance of consistent community engagement in safeguarding our natural surroundings. They reiterated the department’s commitment to nurturing responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to environmental sustainability. Such activities are an integral part of the department’s broader mission to instil values of cleanliness, civic sense, and ecological stewardship through experiential learning and youth involvement.
