Awantipora, Sept 22: The Department of Food Technology, IUST organized a workshop on “effective research planning and execution using Scopus ScienceDirect” in collaboration with Elsevier on Thursday.
The resource persons of the workshop were Ms. Aishwarya Nayal, Consultant South Asia, Elsevier, and Ms. Farhana Siddiqui, Manager South Asia, Elsevier. Elsevier is a global information analytics business that helps institutions and professionals advance healthcare, open science and improve research performances.
The workshop was presided over by Prof. A H Moon, Dean Research IUST, and coordinated by Dr. Tariq Ahmad Ganaie, Head, Department of Food Technology. Ms. Aishwarya discussed many dimensions of research in the workshop that include research with literature, writing quality research papers, finding quality journals for publications, improving citations, understanding editors’ approaches, and getting the research published in quality journals.
Delivering the inaugural address in the workshop, Prof. Moon said, “More than 150 quality research papers have been published from IUST in one year, a huge jump from the previous years”. He assured that Elsevier and IUST will work collaboratively in enhancing the research score of the varsity. Ms.. Siddiqui discussed the collaborative approach of IUST with institutions of repute across the globe. Dr. Ganie encouraged the participants to focus on developing quality research works and aim to publish in reputed journals. He also discussed the ethical responsibilities of researchers.
Active participation of the scholars and faculty members was witnessed in the workshop.
