Srinagar, Mar 11: The Jal Shakti department of Kashmir informed on Saturday that the water supply in many areas of Srinagar will remain affected on March 14 due to the cleaning of water reservoirs.
According to the official, those areas that will remain affected are Chanapora, Natipora, Baghat, Rawalpora, Rambagh, Hafta Chinar, Tulsi Bagh, Gogji Bagh, Wazir Bagh, Solina, Jawahar Nagar, Rajbagh, Humhama, and adjacent areas.
The department has also issued a notice in this connection, which reads, “A service reservoir having a capacity of 15 lakh gallons is to be cleaned, and in this regard many areas will not get water supply from 10:00 am on March 14 to 6:00 am on March 15.
It is important to mention here that the water supply on Saturday also remained affected in several areas of Srinagar as water pipes got damaged at TRC Srinagar.
The concerned executive engineer said the water pipe got damaged as the smart city works were going on in the area, and they have damaged the water pipe.
He said that the men and machinery have pressed into service to restore the water supply in the area. “It will take some time to repair the pipe, but efforts are on to restore the water supply in affected areas.
Due to damage to the pipes, Lal Chowk, Kahayam, Rajbagh, Khanyar, Safakadal, and several other areas were affected, the officer added.
