Srinagar, Jan 18: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Malangpora, Pulwama on Wednesday kick started week long training programme on “Processing and value addition of fruits and vegetables for entrepreneurship development” in which more than 30 trainees participated.
The aim of the programme is to develop the skill of the rural youth in processing of fruits & vegetables so that they will become job providers rather than job seekers.
Dr. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo, Prof & Head KVK/ETC, Malangpora while speaking on the occasion highlighted the role and importance of Krishi Vigyan Kendra in skill development of rural youth through various SAMETI programmes that KVK will conduct in coming days.
Besides various subject matter specialists of the Kendra, Dr.Peerzada Ishtiyaq, Scientist Faculty of Forestry spoke on “Potential of livelihood & generation through value addition of Medicinal & Aromatic crops” & other concerned scientists were invited for deliberating on the subject.
During this seven day programme one day is kept for practical demonstration for trainees which will be helpful in building entrepreneurship in the sector.
