Srinagar, July 30: The ongoing Union Territory Level-1 Kabaddi Referee/Umpires Course Wednesday entered its third day today at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, witnessing enthusiastic participation from over 90 officials across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir.A statement issued here said that the course is being conducted under the expert supervision of Dr Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, General Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association and Technical Director of the Asian Kabaddi Federation. The programme is also being closely monitored by Ms Nuzhat Gull, Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, ensuring its smooth and effective execution.Morning sessions are dedicated to theoretical training, while evening sessions focus on hands-on practical experience. Both are progressing with high levels of discipline and enthusiasm among participants. Renowned Kabaddi officials Rana Ranjeet Singh, an international referee from Bihar, and Dhanashree, a technical referee from the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) and hailing from Maharashtra, are leading the training sessions. Their vast technical knowledge, coupled with interactive teaching and real-time demonstrations, has made a significant impact on the trainees. Their credibility and dedication at both national and international levels have made them exemplary mentors for this certification programme. The course is designed to enhance the officials’ understanding of the technical rules, refereeing standards, and practical aspects of Kabaddi. Upon completion, participants will be eligible to officiate in Youth Services and Sports Department events, All India Inter-Zonal tournaments, Police Meets, Inter-University and Inter-College competitions, and other prestigious fixtures. The driving force behind this initiative, Dr Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, is receiving widespread praise for his tireless efforts in promoting Kabaddi in Jammu and Kashmir and beyond.
