Budgam, June 21: Chairman of the Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister, Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has extended his greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of the three-day Urs of Hazrat Syed Soleh (RA) at Khansahib, which commenced on Friday with religious fervour and enthusiasm. He prayed for the occasion to be a harbinger of peace, prosperity, and tranquillity in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, Hakeem urged the Budgam district administration to ensure adequate arrangements for the thousands of devotees who visit the sanctum sanctorum of the saint daily to pay their respects. He called on the field functionaries of concerned departments to put in place all necessary facilities for the convenience of the devotees.
“Foolproof arrangements should be made to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual Urs of the revered saint Syed Soleh (RA). The officers must ensure the availability of essential commodities for the devotees and provide uninterrupted drinking water and power supply in Khansahib and adjacent areas,” he said. He also requested adequate transport arrangements to ferry devotees from various areas of Syed Soleh to the mausoleum of Syed Soleh.
The PDF chairman stressed the importance of maintaining robust cleanliness and sanitation arrangements, ensuring daily garbage collection and its scientific disposal around the shrine. He urged the health department to set up special first aid camps along the route to Khansahib to meet any exigencies.
“Syed Soleh (RA) is revered with high esteem and faith by people from all over the state,” the former minister said. “I pray for the occasion to bring peace, prosperity, and tranquillity to the region.”
