Kulgam, Jan 23: In a significant development for academic advancement, the University of Kashmir, led by Dean College Development Council Prof. Dr. Khurshid Ahmad Bhat, conducted a thorough inspection at Govt. Degree College Kulgam with a focus on introducing a new subject – “IT & Computer.”

Accompanied by a team including Controller Examinations Dr. Majid Zaman, subject experts Manzoor Ahmad Chashoo and Prof. Zulfiqar Ali, the delegation was warmly welcomed by NCC Cadets. The cadets, standing guard from the main gate to the Principal’s Chamber, set the tone for the inspection.

The event commenced with a welcome address from the college’s Principal, Prof. Syed Eazaz Hussain Rizvi. Dr. Nisar Ahmad Malik, Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Technology at GDC Kulgam, delivered a detailed presentation on the college’s overall infrastructure, with a specific emphasis on the Information Technology department.

Dean Prof. (Dr.) Khurshid Ahmad Bhat, in his remarks, reassured the University of Kashmir’s commitment to supporting the college’s development. The formal vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Gowhar Hamid, Assistant Professor in Environmental Sciences.

The entire event was seamlessly anchored by Dr. Mohd Iqbal Rather, Assistant Professor in Biochemistry. The inspection involved visits to various departments and the College Library, providing a comprehensive overview of the facilities and resources available.

This move towards introducing a new subject reflects the ongoing efforts to enhance the academic offerings at Govt. Degree College Kulgam, with the University of Kashmir playing a pivotal role in facilitating the expansion of educational opportunities in the field of Information Technology.
