Srinagar, Jun 15: Two persons were killed in a tragic road accident that occurred in Tapper area of Pattan in North Kashmir along the national highway on Saturday. A bike rider and a non-local pillion passenger were killed during the accident, police confirmed.
An official from the Police Station Pattan told Rising Kashmir that a Tavera collided with a bike on the national highway in the Tapper area of Pattan, causing critical injuries to both the bike rider and the pillion passenger.
“Following the accident, both injured individuals were rushed to the hospital, unfortunately, the doctors declared them dead upon arrival,”the official said.
The deceased have been identified as Ab Rehman Qureshi, son of Irshad Ahmad Qureshi Resident Handwara, and Anesh Soni, son of Rajendra Singh Resident of Chandigarh.
He said that the Tavera vehicle involved in the accident has been confiscated by the police, and the driver has fled the scene. A case has been registered at the Police Station Pattan in this regard.
