JAMMU, Feb 12: In a heartbreaking incident, three minor sisters lost their lives in a fire that engulfed their house in a remote village in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
The cause of the fire outbreak, which led to the tragic demise of the three sisters, is yet to be determined, according to SSP Ramban, Anuj Kumar.
“It was a concrete house in Ramban where the three minor girls, all sisters, were burnt to death,” SSP Ramban, Anuj Kumar informed Rising Kashmir. “We have also called in the FSL teams.”
Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams have gathered necessary evidence from the scene, and a report on the cause of the devastating fire resulting in the sisters’ deaths will be available shortly.
“The exact cause of the fire, whether it was due to a short circuit, heating instruments, candles, or other reasons, is still under investigation,” the SSP stated.
The incident occurred in Dhanmasta-Tajnihal village in the Ukhral block, where a three-story house caught fire in the early hours of Monday.
The victims, identified as Bisma (18 years), Saika (14 years), and Saniya (11 years), were sleeping on the top floor and were unable to escape as the fire quickly spread throughout the house.
Their bodies were discovered by personnel from the fire and emergency services. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
