Authorities announced on Monday the successful restoration of traffic on the crucial Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
According to a spokesperson from the Traffic police, the Jammu-Srinagar NHW has been partially reopened at Kishtwari Pather in Banihal, allowing for single-way traffic. Light motor vehicles (LMVs) are now operational on both sides, and their movement is being carefully regulated.
The restoration comes after a temporary suspension of traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on the previous day. The halt was prompted by a section of the road collapsing, creating a bottleneck at Kishtwari Pather situated between Ramsu and Banihal.
This incident had led to disruptions in the vital transportation link, impacting the flow of traffic between the two important cities. The prompt efforts to repair and restore the highway have now alleviated the inconvenience caused by the road’s temporary closure.
