Srinagar, July 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police Headquarters has issued a comprehensive traffic plan and advisory for July 24 in view of ongoing disruptions, adverse weather conditions and the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra movement.A statement issued here said that Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was blocked for three hours 40 minutes due to flash floods and mudslides at T2 and Seri, Ramban. “Slow movement observed due to breakdown of two heavy motor vehicles (HMVs). Single-lane traffic at Nashri-Dalwas and Marog–Kishtwari Pather. Local commuters from Reasi, Katra, Udhampur, Patnitop, Doda, and Ramban must carry photo ID after the cut-off time to ensure smooth passage.”The advisory reads that traffic as per the traffic pan July 24, subject to fair weather and road conditions, passenger LMVs/private cars are allowed from both sides–Jammu to Srinagar.“As for the cut-off timings–Nagrota (Jammu): 0600 hrs – 1200 hrs, Jakheni (Udhampur): 0700 hrs – 1300 hrs and Qazigund (to Jammu): 1130 hrs – 1400 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed before or after the designated time slots,” the advisory reads. “As for Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) are–allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar only after road assessment. No HMV movement after 1900 hrs and HMV movement coordinated by TCU Udhampur and TCU Ramban. Only vehicles with six to 10 tyres allowed on Dhar road.”About special Yatra arrangements, to ensure smooth movement of perishable goods and essential supplies during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, UT Administration has directed–empty LPG trucks, fuel tankers, FCI vehicles, and 10-tyre trucks must return via Mughal Road. “Other key highways and roads–Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag Road (NH-244), LMVs and High-Powered SUVs allowed from both directions, PP Parana to Anantnag: 0800 hrs – 1600 hrs, PP Daksum to Kishtwar: 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs,” the advisory reads. “No HMVs (except designated HPSVs) allowed. SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari): LMVs followed by HMVs allowed, Minamarg to Srinagar: 0500 hrs – 1000 hrs, Sonamarg to Kargil: 1130 hrs – 1730 hrs. No vehicle allowed beyond cut-off timings.”The advisory further security forces advised to coordinate movements to avoid interference with Yatra convoys. “Mughal Road (Jammu–Poonch–Shopian), LMVs/Private Cars allowed from both sides, MVs (up to 10 tyres) allowed only from Shopian to Poonch and movement timing: 0700 hrs – 1800 hrs.”Special instructions for transporters and fruit growers include that all fresh perishable load carriers must park vehicles before 9:00 AM daily at designated locations between NAVYUG Tunnel and Levdoora. “Operators are advised to–avoid overloading, carry sufficient fuel and check vehicle fitness before traveling on NH-44,” the advisory reads. “As for the safety and movement advisory–avoid unnecessary halts between Ramban and Banihal, especially near landslide-prone areas.
