Srinagar city is witnessing regular fire incidents, resulting in property worth lakhs of rupees being damaged. However, officials from the fire and emergency department attribute the cause of these fire incidents to negligence on the part of the people.
A senior fire and emergency official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to Rising Kashmir, revealed “The majority of fire incidents in Srinagar are caused by gas leakage and short circuits. He stated that people often leave their gadgets unattended, which leads to many of these fire incidents.”
The official further highlighted that people are not following proper fire safety measures. Instead, they tend to panic when a fire incident occurs and often delay calling the fire and emergency services.
