Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested three gamblers and seized stake money of Rs 4440 in in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A Police Spokesperson said that continuing its drive against social crimes, kulgam police acting swiftly upon a specific information generated from reliable sources regarding Gambling in the juridiction of Police Post Mirbazar, A Police party headed by IC PP Mirbazar raided a suspected gambling site at Chirhama and apprehended following gamblers whose identity has been ascertained as Zahoor Ahmad Ganie S/O Ghulam Hassan Ganie R/O Zadoora, Bumthan, Manzoor Ahmad Lone S/O Ghulam Mohammad Lone R/O Lalipora, Malpora and Zahoor Ahmad Lone S/O Mohammad Maqbool Lone R/O Lalipora, Malpora.
“From the spot stake money of Rs 4440, 03 mobile phones and a set of playing cards were recovered.Taking cognizance into the matter all the gamblers were booked and regarding the incident case FIR No. 27/2023 U/S 13 of Gambling Act stands registered in Police station Qazigund. Further investigation into the matter has been initiated”, he said.
