November 3rd will forever be etched in the memories of a young child, a day that marked the devastating loss of a loving mother, Abida. Tragedy struck in the bustling streets of Kashmir, leaving the child bereft of the guiding light of their mother’s love.

Abida, a 45-year-old devoted parent from Naidkhai, Bandipora district, in north Kashmir, had ventured to the market to select clothes for her precious child, eager to see the sparkle in their eyes as they tried on new outfits. The excitement of the day was palpable, but fate had other plans.

As she browsed through the vibrant stalls, a sudden bomb explosion ripped through the crowded marketplace, shattering the tranquility of the day. Abida, caught in the chaos, suffered grievous injuries, her body torn apart by the blast. Despite valiant medical efforts, she succumbed to her wounds at SMHS Hospital that morning, leaving behind a devastated family, forever shattered by the loss.

The child, now orphaned, faces an uncertain future without the nurturing presence of their mother’s love. The thought of navigating life’s challenges without her guidance is daunting, a void that can never be filled. Abida’s absence will be felt deeply, from the smallest moments of everyday life to the milestones that once brought joy and celebration – birthdays, graduations, weddings, and countless memories yet to be made.

Abida was more than just a parent; she was her child’s rock, confidante, and best friend. Her selfless love and unwavering support had been the child’s anchor, providing comfort and reassurance through life’s turbulent waters. Now, the void left by her passing seems insurmountable, a chasm that threatens to engulf the child’s fragile heart.

The child’s laughter will be silenced, smile dimmed, and heart forever scarred by the brutal loss. As the child grapples with the harsh reality, questions swirl: Who will provide comfort in the darkest moments? Who will guide them through life’s triumphs and tribulations? Who will fill the void left by Abida’s loving arms, which once cradled them with warmth and security?

The community is left reeling, struggling to come to terms with the senseless loss of life. Neighbors, friends, and family members are united in their grief, sharing tears and memories of Abida’s kindness and generosity. Her legacy extends far beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her.

Yet, amidst the tragedy, we find hope in the resilience of the human spirit. Though Abida may be gone, her legacy of love and devotion will endure, inspiring those around the child to provide support and care. The community vows to rally around the child, offering a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear, and a comforting embrace.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of cherishing life’s precious moments. We often take for granted the love and presence of our loved ones, assuming they will always be there. Abida’s tragic passing reminds us to hold our loved ones close, to cherish every moment, and to never take life for granted.

Let us come together to ensure the child receives the love, support, and resources needed to navigate this unimaginable loss. We must honor Abida’s memory by providing a safety net for her child, a network of love, care, and protection. We must ensure the child’s future is bright, filled with hope and promise.

In the face of tragedy, we find strength in community and compassion. May Abida’s memory be a beacon of hope, guiding us toward a brighter future for all. May her love inspire us to create a world where no child has to face the darkness of loss alone. May her legacy live on through the countless lives she touched, a testament to the enduring power of love.

Rest in Peace Abida Kounsar.
