Says security forces, admin & people to work together to wipe out terrorism

Restoration of J&K statehood requires no political efforts

Srinagar, Nov 05: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Tuesday said that terrorists targeting innocent people will be brought to justice and warned the perpetrators and those aiding and sheltering terrorists.

Speaking at the Raabta-e-Awaam program organized by the Save Youth Save Future foundation, Sinha said zero tolerance for those aiding terrorism and urged the public to take a resolute stand against it.

“I have directed the forces not to harm any innocent but the culprits will not be spared. If anyone provides shelter to terrorists, then his house will be razed to the ground. There will be no compromise on it,” he said.

Addressing the Raabta- e-Awaam programme, organized by Save Youth Save Future foundation in Baramulla, LG Sinha that innocent people were killed due to terrorism and people should stand against it. Not only condemn it but should stand against it.

“We will not spare terrorists and those aiding and abetting them in targeting our people. We will bring them to justice. People must stand up against the perpetrators of terror. Security forces, administration and people should work together to wipe-out terrorism,” he said.

LG Sinha said that around 40-50 thousand innocent people were killed, hundreds of our mother and sisters have lost their houses in this violence.

“Those people who are making our connectivity better at Z-Morh Tunnel were killed by terrorists in Gagangir Tunnel. Does anyone have the right to kill anybody? If people will not stand against such people, then it is impossible to accept some change on the ground,” he said.

LG said he has given clear directions to Security forces that innocents should not be harmed and those who are indulging in any terror activity should not be spared.

He also said if security forces, the Union Territory administration and people come together, then terrorism could be eliminated from the region in a year.

“Some people make statements that atrocities are being committed on those providing shelter to terrorists. It is not an atrocity, but a demand for justice and such justice will continue,” LG Sinha said, adding that there are some people who are trying to disrupt the peace.

He further said that drug-free J&K is a step to ensure our youth realize their true potential and with hard work shape their tomorrow, he said.

The Lieutenant Governor reiterated the commitment of the government to empower the youth of J&K and provide them necessary opportunities and facilities to unlock their potential for a better tomorrow.

He assured the talented youth that their empowerment is amongst the foremost priorities of the government.

“Our youth as fearless forces of creativity and torch-bearers of positive change are building a bright and vibrant J&K. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts have been made to fulfil the hopes, aspirations and dreams of the youth of Jammu Kashmir,” LG Sinha said.

He also called upon the youth to work with team spirit while following the ideals and values of the founding fathers of the country for peace and progress of J&K.

“The combined power of the youth, ignited by desire and determination to shape a new destiny for society, will be the greatest strength in the journey of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and a joyful, peaceful, prosperous Jammu & Kashmir,” he said.

LG also said there is a need to channelize  energy of the youth towards achieving the common goal of development and peace.

“When the youth’s energy and dynamic actions are directed towards development, cultural, and social activities, they not only contribute to realizing the true potential of the region but also bring forth their consciousness, and courage, impacting various developmental sectors,” he added.

The Lt Governor also urged the youth to spread the message of peace and contribute to counter-radicalization efforts and the prevention of drug addiction.

He commended the Save Youth Save Future Foundation for its tireless work in youth empowerment.

“I am confident that the younger generation will fulfill the dream of a modern J&K and help society achieve its developmental aspirations,” LG Sinha said.

During an interactive session, young panelists from diverse backgrounds shared their views on the current scenario and the transformational journey of Jammu & Kashmir.

In response to the issues and demands raised by the youth, civil society members, and other sections of society, the Lt Governor assured that appropriate action would be taken to address the genuine concerns raised during the interaction.

He also called on the people to identify and isolate anti-national elements and those disrupting peace.

On the occasion, the Lt Governor honored young achievers, social workers, and prominent citizens for their contributions to society.
