Srinagar, Dec 12: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted searches at multiple locations in several dis-tricts of Jammu & Kashmir in connection with the terrorist fund-ing case, officials said.
A police official said that raids were conducted at several locations across Jammu and Kashmir, including Baramulla, Reasi, Bud-gam, and Anantnag districts were extensively searched regarding the terror funding case.
“During the searches incriminating material indicating linkages between the terrorists and OGWs was seized. The same is under scrutiny. The locations searched by the NIA teams were residential premises of hybrid terrorists and Overground Workers (OGWs) as well as the surrounding jungle linked with the hybrid terrorists who stayed in the area,” he said.
He said that suspected premises were also involved in providing shelter, harbour, food and other logistic support to the terrorists crossing the area, which is one of the transit routes to the Kash-mir and Jammu regions.
NIA Spokesman said that agency on Thursday conducted search-es at 19 locations in 8 states across the country in a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror conspiracy case.
“Several incriminating documents, electronic devices including mobile phones, pen drives, CDs, hard disks etc. were seized dur-ing the searches carried out at multiple locations in the states of Assam, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, J&K, Rajasthan and Gujarat,” he said.
The searches, relating to the case RC-13/2024/NIA/DLI, were conducted at the premises of suspects/close aides of an accused Sheikh Sultan Salah Uddin Ayubi @Ayubi, a Jaish-e-Mohammad operative who was arrested on account of his incriminatory role in the case. Ayubi was taken into custody in October this year for disseminating propaganda material associated with JeM, and radicalising and recruiting youth into the Jamaat outfit inspired by JeM.
The locations at which the searches were conducted today were Goalpara (Assam), Aurangabad, Mumbai, Amravati (MH), Jhansi, Bareilly, Deoband, Saharanpur (UP), Sitamarhi (Bihar), Hooghly (West Bengal), Baramulla, Reasi, Budgam, Anantnag (J&K), Dun-garpur (Rajasthan), and Mehsana (Gujarat).
On Sep 24, NIA conducted searches at 5 multiple locations in Reasi and Rajouri districts of Jammu & Kashmir in connection with the terrorist attack on pilgrims in June this year.
