Srinagar, July 30: The second day of the annual tech fest, Khyber Cement TechKnow 2024, concluded successfully at DPS Srinagar. This two-day gala, organized by CyberCrew, the tech club of DPS Srinagar, has been a staple event for the past eleven years, showcasing the school’s commitment to technological education.

More than 200 participants from various schools of the valley were provided hands-on training sessions covering a carefully curated diverse range of foundational tech domains. Each session involved detailed presentations and demonstrations to introduce the students to the field of computer science. Participants were evaluated through quizes and do-it-yourself exercises to reinforce the learning.

The day came to a close with a grand closing ceremony. A thought-provoking skit by the DPS Theatre Group was performed which explored the impact of technology on youth. A felicitation ceremony was held next, where the organisers and participants were felicitated by the Principal, Ms. Shafaq Afshan, and Chairman Vijay Dhar.
Sharing their experience, the participants expressed their appreciation for the hands-on nature of the workshops, noting that such practical experience is invaluable for students interested in pursuing careers in technology. Students were particularly enthusiastic about the opportunity to learn from their peers, with several mentioning how inspiring it was to see fellow students leading workshops. This sentiment was echoed by many, highlighting the unique peer-to-peer learning environment fostered by the event.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Principal Shafaq Afshan remarked, “The successful culmination of yet another edition of TechKnow shows that it continues to be a beacon of innovation, nurturing and refining the talents of students across various technological fields. The fact that our students have grown to become capable instructors is a testament to the quality of education we provide.”

Chairman Vijay Dhar echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our motto ‘Service before self’ is exemplified through events like TechKnow. It’s not just about technology; it’s about transforming the valley into a cradle of talent. The continued success of this initiative is a source of immense pride for the school.”

The fest was supported by Khyber Cements, Rehmat Spices, PhysicWallah, Red FM, Radio DPS, and Signature Advertisements, underscoring the community’s commitment to fostering technological education in the region.
