Reasi, Apr 1: SSP Reasi Amit Gupta on Saturday appealed to the people to support police in their war against drugs and share any information related to drug peddlers. He said information can be shared through the 24×7 helpline number 9070907017 where the identity of the caller will be kept secret.
Meanwhile, in the Pouni area of Reasi, during naka checking at Dadowa area, one Bullet bike bearing registration No. JK11C 1019 was intercepted and stopped for checking, and on searching 2.40 gms of heroin-like substance along with a small weighing machine was recovered from bike rider namely Rahul Sharma, son of Barfi Lal, resident of Prat, Sunderbani and 2.80 gms from pillion rider namely Reshav Sharma, son of Sham Lal, resident of Prat, Sunderbani, a police spokesperson said in a statement, adding that on this, a case FIR 24/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Pouni.
In another case, a team of Police Station Ransoo while routine patrolling at Ransoo apprehended one person namely Rohit Sharma, son of Subash Sharma, resident of Theru Ransoo and recovered 10 bottles of Chenab JK special whisky from his possession, he said, adding that in this connection, a case FIR no 07/2023 U/S 48A excise act registered and investigation initiated.
Similarly, a police team of Police Station Reasi laid down a naka at IRP Chowk Reasi and apprehended a person namely Romesh Chander, son of Subash Chandra (Caste Brahman), resident of Searli Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, and recovered 24 quarters Desi whiskey 250 ml each, 01 bottle Royal Challenge of 750 ml, 01 Quarter Royal Stag of 180 ml, 04 Quarters Blender Pride of180 ml, 02 Quarter Green label of 180 ml each and 12 Beer Kan of 500 ml each from his possession, the spokesperson said, adding that in this regard, a case FIR No 76/2023 U/S 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi.
“The whole operation was led by SHO Pouni Purab Singh, SHO Ransoo Rakesh Bhamba and SHO Reasi Vijay Sharma under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Neeraj Padyar,” the spokesperson said.
