Jammu, Mar 19: In an effort to strengthen the anti-terror efforts and bolster security forces’ collaboration, the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir (JKP) have for the first time jointly started a training programme for the officers of JKP during which the officers will be trained on “how to deal with” and how to “act promptly” during law and order and terrorism related situation.
The training programme has been started in the Battle School of White Knight Corps at Bhalra in Doda area of Jammu region.
Pertinent to mention, there are two ‘Battle Schools’ of 16 White Corps in J&K, the one is at Bhalra in Doda and another is at Sarol in Rajouri District of Jammu region.
During the joint training, the officers of JKP would be trained by the Army officers and the officers of JKP.
“This is for the first time that such an initiative (training of Police officers) has been jointly undertaken by the Indian Army and the JKP,” Defence PRO, SuneelBartwal informed Rising Kashmir, while adding, “The aim of joint training is to train the JKP officers for further ensuring peace and enhance security in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir”.
Importantly, a significant number of women Police officers of JKP are also part of the training exercise.
At the White Knight Corps Battle School in Bhalra, a batch comprising 62 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSsP) and 1042 trainee Police Sub Inspectors (PSIs), probationers, have commenced their training.
They would be trained by Army and Police instructors. This batch also includes 19 women DSsP& 109 lady PSIs.
On completion of the training, the police personnel will gain immensely from the experience of the Indian Army and it will help them in understanding and undertaking tasks in different security situations in a better manner, the Army spokesman said.
The training will also further bolster the cooperation within the Security Forces.
This joint training initiative not only underscores the enduring partnership between Northern Command and White Knight Corps with the Jammu & Kashmir Police, but also reflects their shared long-term vision of a secure and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir, the Army spokesman said.
