Steps taken to bring Bani, its adjoining areas on tourism map: Govt

Jammu, Mar 05: To promote tourism in Bani area of Jammu division, the J&K Government has taken various steps to bring Bani and its adjoining areas on the tourism map by organising various events and programmes.
In response to a question by the MLA, Dr Rameshwar Singh regarding the steps by the government to promote tourism in Bani in the last two years, the government said the Tourism Department has carried out vigorous advertising campaign for Bani-Basohli and other tourist destinations of Jammu.
For promoting tourism, World Environment Day was celebrated on June 5, 2023, at Bani-Basholi, Annual Swaccta hi Seva was celebrated on October 1, 2023 at Kathua, and Navratra festival was also celebrated at Purthu Kathua in 2023, the government said.
A major project namely, ‘Development of Tourism infrastructure at Sarthal Valley Bani-Basholi’ with an estimated cost of Rs 486.50 lakh under Capex is currently under execution, the government said.
The development of waterfall/selfie point at Sat-Serra Bani and selfie point at Siara at Bani are the ongoing projects for promoting tourism in Bani, the government said. The construction of six multi-facility centres at Dambra, Plakh, project is also going on, it said. The construction of Ghat near Hari Pryag Dham Mandir has been completed and the construction of viewpoints at different locations (on Bani-Basholi road) has also been completed for tourism promotion, the government said.
