Srinagar Roller Skating Championship Held with Great Zeal at Gindun Sports Complex

160 skaters from various age groups participate in event

Srinagar, June 29: The District Srinagar Roller Skating Championship was held Sunday at the Gindun Sports Complex, Rajbagh, with great sporting enthusiasm. Around 160 skaters—boys and girls from various age group categories—participated in the said championship.

According to a statement issued here, this was the first championship held after the renovation of the Roller Skating Rink. Nusrat Gazala, Divisional Sports Officer (K) of the J&K Sports Council, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Mr Mushtaq Zargar, Manager of Bakshi Stadium, and Mr Dilbagh Singh were the Guests of Honour at the venue.

The championship was conducted under the aegis of the J&K Sports Council.Ashraf Dijoo, Secretary-Coach, welcomed the Chief Guest, other dignitaries, and the parents at the venue, and expressed gratitude to the J&K Sports Council for prioritising the renovation of the Roller-Skating Rink. He also requested that drinking water facilities be made available at the rink, along with a rooftop to provide shade from direct sunlight.At the closing ceremony, Nusrat Gazala distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up.
